MUSEUM OF WESTERN ART RECEIVES $15,000 GRANT

The Museum of Western Art is pleased to announce that it has received a grant of $15,000 from the Hal and Charlie Peterson Foundation. The grant will go toward operating support for the Museum.

Stephanie Turnham, Executive Director of the Museum, said “We are most grateful to the Foundation for this support, which helps us meet our mission. The Museum is dedicated to excellence in the collection, preservation and promotion of Western heritage, and the education and cultural enrichment of our diverse audiences.”

Turnham added, “These funds will not only help us pay our bills, they will also help us purchase supplies and equipment for children’s programs, care for the wonderful collection, and effectively maintain the Museum for future generations to enjoy and learn from.”

The Museum was founded in 1983 by a group of dedicated collectors of Western art. The building itself is an architectural work of art and was one of the last projects of renowned Texas architect, O’Neil Ford. The Museum also includes a large pavilion that can be rented, and has classrooms and beautiful grounds filled with bronze sculptures.

The Museum of Western Art is located at 1550 Bandera Highway. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. For more information, please call 896.2553, or visit www.museumofwesternart.com.
